Our Story
Welcome to The Travellers Rest Bed and Breakfast. We operate a farm style bed and breakfast close to the Stirling Ranges, Porongurup Range, and many wineries for our guest to visit and enjoy. Our business is located in what was originally known as the Travellers Rest Inn built in the 1800’s, Tenterden.  Peter and Beth are the owners and operators of the Travellers Rest B&B.
While working in the UK in 2007 we had the opportunity to visit and stay in numerous B&B’s which got us thinking about what we could do in our retirement.

Our journey began in 2009 with the purchase of Yenmor sheep stud farm. The farmhouse originally built in 1870 is what caught our eye as the location for our business.

After viewing the property in 2009, we could visualise a farm style B&B which would attract not only visitors to the area but also assist local businesses by providing quality accommodation.

We initially thought we would have the required renovations completed in 12 months and be operating in 2012 – however after staring the renovations, we realised more time would be required to complete our farmhouse B&B. Many people thought we should have demolished the original old building and start again with a new building – but we could see the potential in saving the old Tenterden Inn and turn it into what is now the Travellers Rest B&B.

While we started off on our journey 2016 gently, just dipping our toes into the tourism stream, we have enjoyed hosting guests from within Australia and overseas.
